Book Review Blog!

My favorite book as a child was Harry Potter, not just one Harry Potter, but the whole series! Harry Potter books were always so interesting and never let you down. All of them were filled with outrageous events that no one could ever think up on their own. The reason I loved these books so much was because they kept your imagination alive as you grew up. Some people’s fantasy worlds leave them when they grow older, but reading the Harry Potter series keeps it alive no matter what your age is. The cover portrays the fantasy theme also which makes all their covers match there themes perfectly. All the covers are a picture of a scene from the book and the colors are dull but they pop out at you somehow anyway. The colors aren’t very bright either, they’re quite mellow, but they use a lot of different colors so it looks like there is a lot going on. The author chose to make the covers like this because she wanted to give you a preview of the story without actually telling you what happened. They are colorful so they attract all ages, but mainly teenagers. The author portrayed the characters well on the covers to how they were described in the book too. I always loved looking at the covers because it is like one big maze. The front and back cover connect to form one large picture, which I think is much more interesting then having two separate pictures. I think J. K. Rowling has a very creative mind so she wanted to make a very unique and interesting kind of book. Her books have sold millions of copies and one of the main reasons is because the cover grabs your attention. It makes you want to read the book just to see what it is going to be about.

Introduction to me

Hi everyone! My name is Brooke Binette and I was born in Park Ridge, Illinois. I grew up most of my life in Geneva Illinois though. I attended Geneva Middle School and High School and loved them both very much! Since fifth grade I have played both volleyball and basketball for both club teams and school teams. My sophomore year we went down to state for basketball and it was such a fun and great learning experience for our whole team. I spend a lot of time with my friends and family and they are all so fun to be around. I am super close with my cousins too and they have lived down the street from me for most my life. I have a sister who is a senior at Indiana University and we are very close. I hope to get to visit her a lot and especially for the little 500 this year. As you all know I attend Illinois State University and so far I like it a lot! I am usually really busy throughout the day and I like all the different things we can chose to do on campus. I enjoy reading a lot and watching movies. I’m pretty lazy so anything I can do while lying in my bed I enjoy. I plan on rushing this upcoming week and I also would like to study abroad my junior year because I hear it is an amazing experience. My favorite place to vacation to is Wisconsin because that’s where my grandparents live and I have been going up there since I was little. It is so relaxing and fun and our whole family gets together. Later in life I plan to travel a lot and there are a lot of different states and countries I would love to see. This is just a little bit about myself but I hope you all enjoyed getting to know me a little!
